Wavelengths

"Wavelengths" explores the dual nature of light—both as a physical phenomenon and an emotional catalyst. Using intentional camera movement (ICM) and long-exposure photography, the project captures the hidden rhythms of artificial light, revealing patterns, swirls, and interwoven colors that transform familiar illuminations into abstract compositions.

The series delves into how light interacts with perception. While the eye perceives light as continuous, slow shutter speeds expose its fragmented nature, echoing wave-particle duality. The resulting images reveal the pulse of LED and neon lights, their rhythmic flicker shaping the texture and motion of the compositions.

Color plays a central role, not only as a wavelength of light but as an emotional force. Red, blue, and yellow streaks merge and collide, creating dynamic energy, while spirals and sweeping gestures mimic the movement of light waves. The artistic process embraces the unpredictability of motion, allowing light to paint the frame, much like Electric Script captured gestural movement through illuminated marks.

Through abstraction, Wavelengths transform everyday light into a study of energy, emotion, and perception. Each image is both scientific and expressive, revealing the unseen structures of illumination while immersing the viewer in the sensation of color in motion.
